Doré Martial Arts Academy is located in Riel Park, St. Albert.
There is no better place to take Japanese Jiu-Jitsu or Kempo Karate / American Kickboxing in St. Albert. Our St. Albert Jiu-jitsu programs are divided in 3 classes at the moment: Kids Jiu-jitsu (5 – 7 years old), Youth Jiu-jitsu (8 – 12 years old) and Adult Jiu-jitsu (12 and up).
As well as our Japanese Jiu-jitsu programs, we also have a Kempo Karate / American Kickboxing for 12 and up.

Amazing place! To me it
Amazing place! To me it was like a second family. Kru Dave, Sensei Stéphane, and Sensei Cal, are all great instructors who share a personality that is inviting and friendly. I have trained in their Muay Thai program for around 3 years and their Adult Jiu-jitsu class for about 1. I will mostly be writing… about Adult Muay Thai. At the Doré Martial Arts Academy, the Muay Thai class has a ‘do as much as YOU can’ mindset which makes it easy for beginners to adjust and not feel left behind during training.
The people I trained with were always helpful, letting me know when I needed to correct something(turning my hip) and giving me a loud “Oyyy” when I would get the hang of it!
Despite the crazy amount of sweat I’d have dripping off me after only the warm up, I was never made to feel bad about myself. Not once did I ever feel like I was being judged. I honestly believe that everyone should take up some sort of martial arts in their life. My self-esteem since when I first started has only skyrocketed! I would recommend this place to anyone who’s considering taking up a martial art or just looking to better themselves. The Trophy Wife and I
The Trophy Wife and I saw that St. Albert Jiu-Jitsu was offering a free class for kids. Since our children have mentioned an interest in the martial arts for a while now, we quickly took advantage of the offer and enrolled our seven-year old daughter and four-year old son in the session. Stephane, their instructor… was absolutely fantastic with the kids! He showed them breathing techniques and got their blood pumping by showing them how to fall properly ,holds and grappling maneuvers. They even had a little grappling session at the end of the class! Even though there was only eight kids in this particular session, Stephane had another instructor there as well, to help out with not only the demonstrations, but also so all the kids got some nice individual attention. Both Stephane and his colleague (I am so sorry that I didn’t catch his name) had a wonderful demeanour to them and they treated all the kids with respect and in turn, they seemed to treat their instructors the same way back. We liked the atmosphere so much that we signed up both of our rugrats for two months and they were both ecstatic! We’ll see if they keep up the interest in their lessons come November. Regardless of how our own kids’ martial arts interest turns out, if you are interested in Jiu-Jitsu, you can’t go wrong with Stephane at St. Albert Jiu-Jitsu. Read more “The Trophy Wife and I”
