Little Ninjas Class (4 - 5 years Old)

Little Ninjas Class (4 - 5 years Old)

Hi parents!

As I’m sure you can attest, a child between the ages of 4 and 6 has a somewhat “limited” ability to focus and pay attention (some of you are probably thinking non-existent ability to focus may be more accurate), and I couldn’t agree more! That’s why we have designed the Little Ninja’s program specifically for this challenging little crowd.

Your child will learn very basic jiu-jitsu techniques through games, which are meant to teach techniques in a fun way. Emphasis on learning at this stage is to lay the foundation for future classes as your child matures and progresses and to get them ready for more challenging techniques in the kids classes.

It is for this reason that we only give stripes on the white belt for progress and reward in the Little Ninjas class. Just so the children can participate in a non-competitive, no pressure environment designed specifically to allow the children to have a constructive outlet for their physical energy.

Specific things your child will learn:

  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • Focus (yes, it does exist!)
  • Teamwork
  • Respect
  • Getting comfortable rolling around on the floor
  • Getting comfortable falling
  • Getting comfortable wrestling with other children
  • Basic ground positioning and hold downs (guard, side mount, mount)
  • Basic introduction to stand up stances, punches and kicks

* Note: We do not teach any submissions to the Little Ninjas (joint locks, chokes, slicers etc.)

What your child needs to bring to their first class:

– Water bottle, sweat pants, long sleeve t-shirt

Purchasing a Gi (a martial arts uniform) is not required for the first class, but is recommended for on going classes. The Gi provides a sense of membership with the other children, and makes many of the techniques easier to perform without worrying about ripping or stretching their clothing. Gis are very affordable and are sold in our store. Go to the Contact from for more information about clothing and equipment.

Thanks for checking us out, and I hope to see you and your child in the future! If you have any questions at all, contact us 3here

Yours Truly,

We keep the class small to provide quality teaching. One of my black  belt, Sensei Nathan Darlington help out to ensure that our student-to-teacher ratio is acceptable. We typically have 6 -10 students in this class. If we get up to 12, we’ll split the class in 2 and have 2 classes
